Exclusive Distributor of the RSI/EMD D77 Traction Motor

RSI and EMD worked together to develop a remanufactured traction motor specification specially suited for the short line and industrial market. This motor has to deliver the performance required over a wide range of locomotive applications and, at the same time, maintain the value of the short line and industrial traction motor population.

Personnel Training

Skilled railroad people are hard to find. Often you have to grow them yourself. You can rely on RSI and EMD to provide comprehensive support here, too. Not only can you arrange for locomotive operation, electrical, mechanical, and air brake maintenance training both at the factory and on your railroad, you can purchase training videos and literature on almost every aspect of locomotive maintenance and repair. FAQ / Tips

When overhauling an engine it’s worthwhile (and inexpensive) insurance to replace the valve bridges and rocker arm assemblies. RSI’s rebuilds use a high percentage of new material and are 100% tested. Contact us for ordering information for the model engine you’re rebuilding.

A guaranteed way to blast a voltage regulator - flash the aux. gen. field without removing the lead from the VR first.

Still burning up headlight resistor wiring at the dropping resistor terminals? There’s high-temperature connectors available that will stand up to the heat. Specify terminal lug 8281475, which is a ring type for use with No. 10 screws. Also, if you need to replace the resistors, order part number 40001499, (2 - 6 ohm, 400W tubes).
