The testing and evaluation laboratory at Engine Systems, Inc. is one of the most modern in the United States. As the only EMD-authorized distributor of parts and engine systems for the worldwide nuclear power industry, Engine Systems, Inc. must certify parts through an industry audited, commercial grade dedication program. ESI is also the only Woodward Industrial Controls distributor for the nuclear power industry. ESI's Qualification Testing Laboratory supports the demanding requirements of nuclear parts qualification. Our proven quality control program, together with equipment and testing procedures that provide test results traceable to the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST), has instilled in our customers the peace of mind that comes from knowing that every part meets the toughest qualification standards. We can respond rapidly to requests for seismic, environmental, metallic, elastomer, hardness, functional and cyclic testing.

Seismic & Environmental Testing

Test results data can be provided in concise, easy-to-read digital and/or graphical format, such as the FT-IR testing report and the seismic/vibration testing report.

Functionality Testing

Our trained technicians can verify performance characteristics like output speed, power and efficiency, as well as operational parameters for specific equipment such as pumps, motors, governors, controls, and relays.

Material Content Verification

Utilizing X-ray fluorescence, Fourier transform-infrared and other analyzers and testing equipment, we can verify metallic, elastomer and impurity content and hardness testing - with results traceable to NIST standards.

Engine Systems Inc. can provide difficult to find parts - upgraded through our commercial grade parts dedication program to meet nuclear safety-related parts requirements - with the necessary certifications to meet the most stringent utility quality assurance requirements. These parts range from motors, pumps and governors to seals, valves and electronic equipment. Parts dedication is done in accordance with EPRI NP 5652 to provide a consistent basis of parts qualification for the nuclear industry.
