Driving Instructions

From Raleigh Durham Airport ( RDU )

If you fly into Raleigh Durham International Airport, it will take you about two hours to gather your luggage, pick up your rental car, and drive to Rocky Mount. We recommend your return flight from RDU depart after 3:00 to allow for rush hour traffic and varying weather conditions. When traveling by air, you might want to check the air fare rates to Rocky Mount Wilson Airport. The drive from Rocky Mount Wilson Airport is about 1.5 hours less and the rates may be the same or less. There is taxicab service available from Rocky Mount Wilson Airport but not Raleigh Airport.

Rocky Mount is approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh and rental cars are available in both Raleigh and Rocky Mount. If you wish to drive from Raleigh to Rocky Mount, the direction are simple. Take I-40 E to 440 N then take US-64E to Rocky Mount. Take the exit toward Red Oak turn right onto N. Old Carriage Road. Turn left onto Sunset then left onto Freight Road.
